Embers & Oak Candle Co is your go-to online store for handcrafted candles and wax melts that encapsulate the tranquility of the Lake District. Before any of our scents even touch a jar, there’s a whole little ritual that happens behind the scenes at Embers & Oak Candle Co.

Every single jar gets:
✨ A deep clean to remove any dust or fingerprints
✨ A wipe-down with alcohol for the perfect smooth surface
✨ A check for cracks or imperfections
✨ Carefully centred wicks placed by hand
✨ Labels ready to go so they sit neat, straight and beautiful

It’s the not-so-glam part of candle-making… but honestly, it’s one of my favourites.
Getting everything prepped and perfect means your candle burns cleaner, longer, and looks beautiful from the first light to the last ✨

Creating Our Candle Labels

I put a lot of care into designing our candle labels so they match the feel of each scent and the warmth of our amber jars. Every label is tested, reprinted, and adjusted until it looks just right on the glass. It’s a small detail, but it’s one that makes your candle feel special from the moment you open it.

Today’s setup: a table full of half-melted candles, timers going off, notebooks open, and me hovering like a candle detective 😂

Testing burn times, melt pools, wick sizes, scent strength… all the candle stuff no one sees, but it makes all the difference.

Some jars behave, some don’t. Some fragrances are harder than others!
But that’s the fun of it! figuring out how to make each candle burn safely, evenly, and smell incredible.
